An anonymous user posts a bomb threat for a high school. When the threat is discovered, several students and one teacher are still at school. They find themselves trapped in the school for days as the police investigates.
This is not really a crime novel about who made the bomb threat. I think the book focuses more on the relationships between the students. The story follows the characters as they spend time in the school while giving the reader a glimpse into each of their backgrounds.
That said, I don’t quite understand what this book is trying to achieve. We start off with the news of the bomb threat and the ensuing investigation. Then we start learning about each student but the author does not try to tie them into the mystery. It feels extremely unfocused.
The language is one thing I like about this book. I learned a lot more school-related vocabs. It was a bit challenging for me in some scenes, but I felt like there was a sense of accomplishment.
Overall, it was a good book for learning but I wouldn‘t recommend it because it felt like a waste of my time in the end 🤷🏻♀️
