As one might expect from a modern anime movie, the animation is beautiful and very well-done but the story here is a little bland. It seems like the authors tried too hard to make it a sad story by making the characters cry all the time but when characters cry this frequently, it just becomes silly. The pacing of the movie also felt way off. There were multiple times where I felt like I missed an episode because it was skipping through time way too fast and other times, the movie would linger on flashbacks of scenes that happened not that long ago — or rather, they were a long time ago in the context of the lives of the character but in the context of the movie runtime, it was only like 10–15 minutes ago, which ties in with my previous criticism.
All in all, it is not a badly made movie, I can see that people put effort in it, but I'll probably forget it by next week.
