Cute story, curious about the plot
I read this as my first book of 2024. I'd seen it show up in the global feed here and the premise hooked me in.
The main character is a preschooler with the memories of a grandmother, and the escapades so far remind me a bit of the earlier parts of 本好きの下剋上。There are hints that there is a larger plot in later volumes, but so far this volume has been mostly cute slice of life scenes with some comedy from the main character being 6 going on 86.
From a language learning perspective, it wasn't too challenge, though there are a few vocal quirks of the main character (the aforementioned っぺ) and there's one scene with a large string of German in katakana that threw me for a loop (to save you the lookup, ノイシュヴァンシュタイン城 is Neuschwanstein Castle. Also the main character comes out with old fashioned terms from time to time, some of which felt the need to explain them for the Japanese audience with footnotes, so I'm guessing they're not the most common. That said the footnotes are there, so if you understand the modern terms it will explain them for you.
So far I've only read the first volume, but after that I probably will check out the other volumes in the future.
