彩雲国物語 二、黄金の約束

It’s summer. The city is suffering under a brutal heat wave and people are collapsing from heat stroke, including many members of the court bureaucracy. Shuurei is informally offered another temporary job, this time in the Finance Bureau under the eccentric and strict 黄奇人. However, since women are not officially allowed to take the imperial exam and become officials, she must disguise herself in male clothing.

This volume has some scenes which were significantly changed or not included in the anime adaptation. That made it more fun to read.
