overall, i enjoyed my second watch of 개마을 차차차 where i focused on listening and picking up new vocabulary. in that sense, it was great! i watched with korean subtitles only and turned them off when i was feeling more confident. i learned a lot of new vocabulary and listening helped cement some grammar in my mind. it was a good experience for working on my korean. a lot of the show revolves around being in a tight knit seaside community and the relationships within, so there's not much hyperspecific vocabulary you'd never see otherwise.
the story itself has enough flaws for me to not be interested in another rewatch, but i liked it nonetheless. my tastes have changed since my inital watch through, so i could share a bunch of reasons i did love it then and why i don't care for it as much now. it feels too drama filled and there are too many clichés that pile on top of each other without adding much, but the characters themselves are quite enjoyable. the pacing is slow in developing the main couple's romance and showing the side characters' stories, but i didn't mind it. i like the slower pace it offered -- it was easy to settle into and feel like i was an in-person spectator.
