It's really interesting seeing the ways Sumika and Kanoko are developing in this volume, for better and worse. It's nice getting to see a little more of Nene, and we also meet the new kitchen employee... who doesn't really add anything significant to the story (the she does allow some of the settings to vary more) I mostly really like this volume, but it introduces the only character I hate, in the entire series.
