A large grab bag of short stories spanning a wide range of topics such as death, aging, friendship, and loneliness. Most center around relationships of some sort and evoke nostalgic and/or melancholy vibes, reminiscent of 90s J-lit like Yoshimoto Banana.
Some of the stories were memorable, while others I’ve forgotten already—your favorites will likely depend on which themes resonate with you. It was perfect to keep on my nightstand and read a story occasionally before bed when I wanted something relaxing. However, I can imagine that reading the entire book in one go might feel underwhelming or monotonous.
I’d recommend this if you’re looking for an easy, low-commitment read to enjoy here or there. It’s probably not for you if you’re seeking excitement or drama, but sometimes a change of pace is nice.
