Really cool female protagonist, not a very good first story
The beginning of the book was great, the female character is so much fun (the audiobook narrator does a great job of capturing her character) but the story isn't very good. It's a very short book, 70k chars only, so there isn't much space to introduce enough of the characters, and when you get to the important parts it feels like the author thought of how to deal with it on the spot, explaining all the stuff right there instead of preparing the ground beforehand.
I think this was meant as a one short story, and evolved into a series so I'm cutting some slack.
Overall you can expect some comedy and fights, with a character focused book.
For difficulty, I don't think this is a (current) 37. I don't want to vote on that because the audio skews the difficulty for me, but I'd say 33~. There's some words used in hiragana instead of kanji, the beginning has some long sentences which confused me on who was speaking, because it turns out it's just one big dialogue, like this:
which might be attributed to the book being old, or maybe it's just the author's style, but quickly adjusted. By the second half it wasn't a problem at all anymore, and the only real difficulty was the magic explanation part.
