Update: Having just finished the show, while there's some things I have mixed feelings about along the way, overall I really enjoyed the adaptation. In the end I don't think it quite lived up to manga tho. So if you enjoyed it even a bit, I'd highly recommend checking that out. While ch 30-32 were dropped from the anime, they made an excellent voiced comic - so I'd really recommend reading those chapters along with it!
Original: 6 episodes in, and it's been overall a pretty good adaptation of one of my favorite manga (see my review here). Because of the archetypes for the main trio, and initial hook of the story, people inevitably draw comparisons to やがて君になる. One of the things I find really refreshing is that this story is basically the opposite of やが君. It features a lot of clear, direct, emotionally healthy communication and relationships. It's very quick in addressing the "will Himari be able to return Yori's love?" question as well. In addition to being a romance, it's also a band anime!
Some things are different than I imagined (like some of the voice actors, and it doesn't feel quite as fast paced). My only major issue is with the animation quality, which is very variable - sometimes it's excellent, and sometimes it feels like they just didn't try (Edit: it later came out that there were some insane production mismanagement issues). The musical parts especially can be disappointing (though they did a really solid job in episode 6). The voice acting is very solid, and just like the manga, the language is pretty easy for this sorta show.
Despite that, I'm still always excited for next week's episode
