I had just finished reading Big Brother Rental before this and this was a nice step down in difficulty from the last volume of that series. There were stretches that I was able to read without having to lookup a word and the story was interesting enough.

There were only a few sections where I had to turn to DeepL to figure out what was going on. There's a picture on each page and that helps with understanding a ton.

For reference, at the time of reading this I have just finished Genki 2 though my vocabulary is a little higher than that.
