A story of Arabs in London
A book written originally in Arabic, translated into Spanish, that I came across in a London bookstore and had been sat on my bookshelf for 20 years waiting to be read.
The intermingling stories of the Moroccan prostitute Amira, the recently divorced Iraqi Lamis, and the colourful Samir, along with the Englishman Nicholas, after all four cross paths on a flight from Dubai to London.
This book gave an interesting insight into a different side of London life. A bright story with some funny and surprising moments.
The occasional Arab word at times that I wasn’t familiar with but came with a glossary at the back of the book. I now know what a misbaha is!
