Incredible movie... it's hard to know where to even start. Worth watching for the animation alone (the music isn't bad either, tho I'm not the hugest Radwimps fan). There's some excellent voice actors in it as well! Anyway, it's famous, so I won't try to summarize.
Language: there's lots of kansai ben & Tokyo dialect (the movie takes place in a fictional town in Gifu prefecture, and in Tokyo), some vocab specific to meteorology, shinto, etc. if you want to prime yourself prior to watching the movie, I'd suggest reading the excellent manga adaptation (which also apparently has a few cut scenes).
The manga may not match the visual quality, but otherwise it really matches the movie very well - and in some ways felt more organic to me. Honestly, I think I would have been a bit more confused with the movie, if I'd watched it first. In any case, I love them both :)
