This volume is a lot lighter than than the last few, but I found it kind of hard to buy, particularly that Shippou at this point was still that naive, petty, and totally unconcerned with how someone stealing Tessaiga's power would permanently endanger his and the others' lives. The events set in motion at the end of last book do make things interesting in the beginning of this volume at least, and Kouga gets to look cool for a moment. Even the バカバカしい stuff in the middle builds towards something more serious.
