Only graded reader I didn't like

From a language-learning perspective, I think this graded reader is great because it has a form that is repeated, and within this form, new words were introduced.

But it feels like this story was written by someone who thinks very little of women. It's basically about a woman who can't keep track of time:

• son is late to school (because of her)
• she is late with the trash
• she is late for work, and so on.

This woman is defined by two things: being late and loves shopping. One day she is late for a sale and THEN she realizes that time is important, not for any of the above reasons.
