Adolescence - the practical side
A foray into the things that are barely mentioned in most fiction, even in manga: the terrifying side of puberty. 5th-grader Hina has just started menstruating and is desperate to keep it a secret from, well, everybody, including her single father – but when her childhood friend Daichi stumbles into the secret, the two resolve to deal with the practicalities of adolescence as best they can. Vocabulary is probably the most difficult part, but the language level (and slang) is appropriate for grade schoolers, making it relatively easy to follow along. The book is also not very text heavy, making it fairly breezy to get through.
