A cat who happens to be a chef has a restaurant that only opens after midnight, and he listens to customers' stories in exchange for their peculiar food orders. What you get is a range of interesting animals reminiscing about their lives, interspersed with the cat's internal monologue and cooking instructions.

This book is a great read for intermediate learners who want to get exposed to more advanced grammar structures while reading a simple and charming story. While the vocabulary can be a bit out there at times due to the nature of the characters all being animals, the book more than makes up for it by having complex sentences using relevant daily-life words and expressions. Also, bonus points for being a series and having an audiobook option, as they really help with the immersion.
