Great book for upper beginner

This book was perfect for me right now as a refresher in Japanese, as I'm coming back after an extended break. This book has 25 chapters, the text starts off with very short two page passages (lots of white space and mainly dialogue, very beginner), but as the book goes on the chapters increase to four pages, more passages and less white space.

After each chapter there is two pages of questions to check your comprehension. Some are to write a sentence, some are multiple choice questions, and then it will have you fill in some blanks with the grammar point they used in the text, or fill in the particle. This book wont teach you anything about the grammar, so if you don't know it you'll have to go elsewhere to learn about it. I found the exercises not too taxing, just a quick way to check your comprehension.

The story itself is not too thrilling, but the thrill comes from understanding the words! Ha. It is about the relationship between Mr White and Tina. There is a bit about working in a company, eating out, travel. It is a story with a bit of drama and has a conclusion, so it's not like isolated stories.

All in all, I am glad to have read the book, it was easy for me to understand, and it also highlighted to me some things I needed to brush up on!
