This book was a solid 'Meh'.
Felt very 中二病, took a long time to build up to anything interesting, main character felt endlessly wafflely about things I find obvious because he's in middle school and I'm probably too old to be a good audience for this book. Mildly useful from a vocab and grammar point of view.
Basic plot - every night the main character becomes a monstrous figure and wanders around town. One night he ends up meeting an outcast girl from his homeroom when he sneaks onto the school grounds one night. He learns about human cruelty and schoolyard politics along the way.
Additional notes: I don't recommend the audiobook for this title, especially if you plan to read along with the text. The audiobook cuts out, adds, and swaps around sentences pretty often. The main female character (矢野) 's dialogue is also cringey to listen to with the high pitch and faked stuttering.
