This was my first try at native material and found it a nice challenge at my level (slightly above N5) and fun read. The stories start out very simple and gradually build in text density. The only kanji is the 80 for first graders but the sentences were short enough that this wasn’t much of a problem. This is definitely easier to read than the regular Doraemon manga and has slightly bigger font. The language used is a lot of daily life stuff with a small amount of specialized vocab pertaining to whatever gadget Doraemon has in each chapter.
