The second Kirby novel is still very cute. Language-wise it's mostly the same as the first, but the opening few chapters are a bit tricky since the frog siblings introduced in this book have a rougher, tough-guy kind of speech, but I got up to speed with it fairly easily.

This one makes the adventure plotline more apparent earlier on, but it still has a lot of the sitcom elements that endeared me to the first one and the actual storyline does have some fun twists. DeDeDe commits credit card fraud and identity theft and that spirals into a whole thing. Chef Kawasaki is becoming my favorite side-character in these, he only has a few scenes in each book so far, but he's always just a regular guy getting mixed up in stuff he has no interest in and that's very funny.
