This was my first ever novel I read in Japanese. Being familiar with both manga and anime, I considered myself familiar enough with the vocabulary used in 名探偵コナン. However, there were many words related to the exhibition, the architectural structure of the Suzuki building or puzzle specifics, which I had to look up or make out what was meant in retospect.

I think it was a good challenge! I have since read more 名探偵コナン novels of the movies and I can definetly see the improvements in reading speed and reading comprehension. I enjoyed the dramatic finale and loved that 怪盗キッド was featured again so positively. However, the explanation around the reappeared painting itself was a bit thin.
