Interesting series that starts off kind of bland, but gets better as it goes (it took me until vol 3 to start really getting interested). It has an interesting mix of taking itself seriously while also trying to be funny. There are certainly some poignant moments , as well as moments when it brings up differences in gendered experiences (like how much of a pain women's yukata are compared to men's). There's also a few characters who fall in a different places in terms of gender identity and expression. There's plenty of cute, doki-doki, hilarious, etc, moments as well.
I haven't read a lot of TSF stuff... basically this, ボクガール | L23 and some of らんま1/2 | L23. Despite various problems with ボクガール, I found it easier to get into overall. However, if you're looking for a series that treats trans and gender stuff in a respectful, serious manner, this is probably a good pick.
