An easy-to-read collection of short horror stories. (~N4)

This series features collections of short horror stories targeted towards mid-upper elementary school students. This installment is a collection of stories from different countries around the world.

I think this is a great book for learners. The language used is very common and there is furigana for most kanji. The majority of stories in this book are only 4 pages long, which makes it doable even for complete beginners. If you want to try reading a book in Japanese but are a little intimidated, this is a great place to start.

As these are VERY short stories targeted towards children, most of them are predictable. I found the stories where the people were the real bad guys to be the most interesting. I can't vouch for the validity of each story as, at least for my country, I didn't recognize them, and the names used to represent the characters weren't familiar.

Granted, I'm not the target audience for this book. Some of them did manage to be interesting in only a few pages. There are a few illustrations featured in this book, and they are cute and not really creepy.
