Second novel I've read in Japanese
It's a bit hard for me to rate because this is the second novel I've read in Japanese, the first being The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. This is much "harder", but I felt that the writing had much more exciting description, the story was much more engaging so I enjoyed reading this one a lot more.
I did find that towards the end of the book I felt a little bogged down (story lost a bit of momentum or my reading of it did), but it got going at the very end. I haven't read the manga or seen the anime, but I've seen the live action and I believe this book covers about the first two episodes of the show.
In terms of language learning, I am probably almost a N3 level (could maybe pass the test) and I felt I learnt a lot of vocab from this book. I thought the grammar was fairly easy, but it could be that I missed some harder grammar that I don't yet know.
