This is the regular version (w/o furigana) and it was still an easy read. The language is simple both in structure and in use of kanji/vocabulary. Each story is only a couple of pages long which makes it less daunting for a beginner, imo. The stories basically all follow the same formula, which again, aids understanding. I think this is a great option for when people switch from manga to books.
