Ramping things up

Volume 2 is where the story really starts speeding up to accommodate the story in as few chapters as possible; the last three seals are all done offscreen, and some characters (like Magnius) have their appearances moved around to introduce (and then get rid of) them earlier. (Rodyle is, hilariously, introduced and then killed within a single page.) Not to worry, though; the coffee scene made it in. We end the volume with the crew arriving in Meltokio. Things are moving at a pretty fast clip, and while it's fine (and kind of nice) to get the highlights as someone who's already played the game, this adaption is definitely no substitution for the OG.

Vocab and grammar remain at similar levels to volume one; vocab is going to be a bit broader than last volume, I think, just because the manga has to cover a lot of concepts and ground with little build-up.
