Watch if you're learning Kansai-ben or just want an excellent romcom
This anime is specifically very unique because its one of the few where the mangaka, and almost all of the voice actors are from Kansai so very authentic, wrt things like the differences in pitch, phrasing, expressions, etc. It does slip into 標準語 (Tokyo/standard dialect) at times, but the overwhelming majority of the time it's Kansai. (And that sort of mix-match of Kansai & Tokyo is something younger speakers do irl)
On a romcom level... there's a lot to say, and I'm not sure how much justice I could do. So I'll just say that I really loved both the leads and the supporting cast, and while there's a few things that were a bit dated or cliche, overall I think the writing is really creative and original. Also the humor is 100% on point the entire show. It never got old for me, and even when I wanted to yell at this idiot couple (or occasionally their friends), I couldn't help rooting for them. I think it also makes good use of miscommunication, and the interruptions and misunderstandings aren't cheap gags, but the genuine sort of things that could come up.
I especially loved the portrayal of Lisa's injured feelings throughout so much of the story, as well as later on Ootani's - you could really empathize with both. Lots of fun and happy moments as well. I also love that the characters do actually try really hard to communicate - whether directly or with the help of the supporting cast.
My only critique would be that sometimes the plot feels a little dragged out or random... but even then it never veered too far, and I've certainly seen far worse offenders as that goes.
Anyway, I'm certainly planning to read the manga, and apparently there's a PS2 game (video here) as well. So that's gonna be lots of fun! Can certainly see myself rewatching this someday as well!
