Short but sweet
Something nice and simple for beginners, but enjoyable for any viewer who likes cute Pokemon doing things. The episodes are short and use very simple words. Haru tends to speak fast when flustered, but other than that the show is accessible. Pokemon names are not really important here and there is a good amount of visual context to help learn words. Audio quality is good and music doesn't overtake the dialogue.

A super cute animated show about a resort island that caters to Pokemon. The episodes are really short, only about 15 minutes long each (with credits), and mostly talk about daily life. Pokemon names and the main character Haru occasionally breaking out in super fast speech are likely going to give learners the most trouble.

A great entry point for Netflix watchers
This show is a solid candidate for someone dipping their toes into native TV without English subs for the first time. You get a lot of hospitality-related vocabulary and phrases that can be useful when you travel. You also get a good number of examples of how the language changes depending on character archetypes and who's speaking to whom - employee to boss, service worker to customer, couhai to senpai. I appreciated that the writers explored some of the more realistic problems that regular, gr
