One day, Naho Takamiya receives a letter written to herself from ten years in the future. As Naho reads on, the letter recites the exact events of the day, including the transfer of a new student into her class named Kakeru Naruse. The Naho from ten years later repeatedly states that she has many regrets, and she wants to fix these by making sure the Naho from the past can make the right decisions—especially regarding Kakeru. What's more shocking is that she discovers that ten years later, Kakeru will no longer be with them. Future Naho asks her to watch over him closely.

On living a life without regrets
Synopsis
High school girl obtains the super power of hindsight thanks to letters she receives from herself 10 years in the future. Personally, I would have written the winning lottery numbers or the movements of the stock market but that makes for a bad story. Instead, she receives letters full of regret advising her past self to be more courageous and open in interpersonal relationships, especially with her crush who was going through hard times and needed all the moral support he could get.
About the story
In some ways, it felt like a fable about the importance of taking action, cherishing your relationships, and communicating openly to live a life without regrets. A fable told through a high school love story, with a balanced diet of happy and sad moments.
As far as anime HS love stories go, it is the pretty standard setup of a shy girl and an equally shy boy dating each other despite refusing to admit it until the very end. For good measure, throw in a love polygon as well as some romance among the side characters.
I think it is really that extra layer of introspective fable brought by a little sci-fi element that elevated the story and made me think more about it. The feel-good vibes of this close-knit group of supporting friends also help.
About the language
Very beginner-friendly anime with clear well-spoken characters. However, there is a lot of unvoiced text on screen that you're expected to read. An anime has never made me pause and read so much. Obviously, natives do not write handwritten letters or text messages with furigana so you better know how to read basic N5-N4 kanji. Fortunately, the fonts are easy to read.
