A decent adaptation of the LNs that includes the same shortcomings, along with sometimes questionable choices in editing, cuts and cinematography. It has all the same flaws - extremely poorly written romantic interests, uncomfortable scenes and resolutions, suspension of disbelief issues, adults you really want to yell at for being so disappointing, the way it handles/resolves a sexual assault, etc. I think you lose out a lot, due to the lack of various characters' inner monol
