Marika is a high school student living on a planet known as Uminoakeboshi. One day she finds out that her deceased father was the captain of the space pirate ship called the "Bentenmaru". More importantly, the one to inherit the captain's title has to be a direct descendant—meaning that Marika is now the captain of the ship.

Cool premise, but doesn't live up to its potential
I'd heard & read some good stuff, but at 12 episodes in, and it was basically billed to me as "cool girls doing cool things", but I've repeatedly felt like the series doesn't live up to its potential. The pirates thing felt extremely 中途半端, and after the first 2 episodes, there's way too much unnecessary, and very long, technical babble in almost all the episodes, leaving things feeling otherwise shallow. The characters themselves are pretty refreshing, especially the level-headed and thoughtful
