Charming and fun animation with some challenging dialogue
The plot centers around food and pastries, and I was introduced to a lot of dishes and ingredients I had never heard of before. I also picked up quite a few idiomatic expressions. That being said, there was a lot about episode 1 of this show that nearly scared me off. My Melody talks like a baby and her captions are written entirely in kana. Kuromi rants at a breakneck pace when she's aggravated (which is often). Various other bit characters have whimsical quirks in their speech that can take so
