Fun and bingeable

I needed a good excuse to finally watch the Pokémon anime! Doing it in Japanese is a great way to experience it. For language learning it's perfect--as a kid's show it's quite easy to follow what's going on even when I don't catch all the words, so I don't feel like I'm missing out on the content. And it's fun enough that I'm motivated to keep coming back to it.

I started with the XY anime, which worked well since it's good quality and it's where I started playing the games. Seeing one of my favorite regions in a new light is a ton of fun. The focus is on battles (of course) but it also takes time to explore some of the fun details specific to the region. I'll admit some episodes were a bit repetitive, but there were also some pretty entertaining moments and several really great arcs.

I'm glad I found a show I could comfortably and enjoyably put a lot of time into to get my immersion hours in. I've enjoyed it enough that I'm excited to keep working my way through the seasons!
