(3.60/5)I'd argue this is a pretty underrated show actually. It is a very 6/10 or 5/10 show quality wise, with the characters and plot not really being anything to write home about, but the theme and plot ideas were particuarly appealing to me and seeing Tomozaki better himself was really entertaining and something I could relate to, so the story itself has quite a bit of substance to it. That said, characters were fine ranging from whatever and cool character. The episode to episode plot itself was also fine, entertaining enough, but what really makes this show is the whole journey which is really fun to see and you just wanna see more so this is a 7 for me.
Japanese-wise, I don't quite remember but I mined quite a bit and there was quite a bit of monologues and more 'deep' commentary so there was a lot to learn. That said, I think I followed the plot pretty well, but still had to look up and maybe see in English for some weird sentences I don't quite remember. So yeah 2 or 3 but I'll give it a 3 cuz I remember not following completely sometimes. 3/5

Interesting show. The 陰キャオタク Fumiya Tomozaki has some distorted thinking about the world, and how it's a クソゲーム, and essentially thinks the responsibility lies everywhere but himself. The リア充 Aoi Hinami condescends and clashes with him, but then decides to take him under her wing, gamifying real life to help him improve his shortcomings (real or imagined). Some of the tasks are wholesome, some of them are kinda messed up and manipulative, and that does eventually become a source of conflict. Even the more questionable tasks end up benefiting both Tomozaki and his eventual friends or acquaintances. Speaking of which, the supporting characters are extremely well-developed (even if they're a bit ridiculous or unrealistic at times)
One thing that's nice about the show is, despite the initial judgemental MC, the show isn't passing judgement on リア充 or オタク in general. It's also hard to tell where it's going at any given moment, which I really enjoyed. I wasn't super thrilled with the way the show resolved the conflict between the two main characters towards the end. I also have some issues with how reductively and simplistically the show treats its message. I'm hoping that gets dealt with more properly in season 2. Overall I enjoyed the show, and got interested enough to start reading the light novel. I can't quite articulate why, but I really liked the feeling of the language in the show. While I wouldn't say it's a "must watch", I'm glad I watched it, and looking forward to seeing where it goes.
