(4.50/5)A great J-drama, solid N2 for learning
First love is a non linear love story. The story features two protagonists who were childhood sweethearts in the 90s but are not together in the present. The story is well paced and regularly switches between past and present as we slowly learn how their lives have played out.
The production values are fantastic, higher than most J-dramas you'll see. The story is also very sweet and you start to care for the characters a lot.
In terms of difficulty this show can be challenging at times. Some of the conversations shouldn't be a problem if you have everyday conversation learnt. Other conversations can be very challenging however. Characters will sometimes speak methaphorically so it can be difficult to understand what the meaning is. Other challenging topics include war and medical words. Most of these aren't too important to the plot though.

Loved it, cried like a baby
This is the kind of J-drama I needed. The production is great, the actors are amazing and the story is captivating. I'm in between N3 and N2 grammar and vocabulary wise and I didn't struggle much to understand what was being said.
