Good modern vibe, but too compressed

I'm writing this after episode 4 10. I think they got the vibe well enough for a modern adaptation, but at times it feels quite shallow. Watching it alongside the 1970s 赤毛のアン | L29, this version is very compressed - essentially like getting the highlights - and I don't really feel that same spark & connection from it. For me the 1970s version feels much more organic and developed. Seeing Anne grow into her new household, and farm life, and watching Anne, Matthew, and Marira all slowly change is really special to me. And you get a real sense of what life is like for them there. For reference, 4 eps of the 2025 version = 18 eps of the 1970s version. Also I personally prefer the animation and speech style of the 1970s. Update: episode 10 finishes off book 1, as opposed to the 49 episodes of the 1970s.

Despite that, it stands ok on its own. Also due to everything that's left out, it's a much easier level than the 1970s show. So it's a more accessible introduction, in that sense.
