Adaptation: From an adaptation standpoint, it's a rare example of a perfect adaptation. It not only stuck 100% to the manga, but also brought it to life in an incredible way without adding filler. The downside of this is that it shares the same flaws.
Story: Objectively, I don't think it's the best show, but I found myself really enjoying it (to the point that I binge read the entire series afterwards). Starting with the initial hook, a decent amount is very contrived and unrealistic, but if you're fine with that, it can be an emotionally fun and interesting roller coaster.
It started off a bit boring, but got better as the show went on. The arc with the yandere character particularly went in a direction I wasn't quite expecting. And it was nice to see various characters slowly grow, open up, and communicate with each other.
Aesthetically the show's quite pretty, and turns the cute factor up to 11. The musical score is quite manipulative, and very good at creating the air of this half-fantasy half-reality cafe. The ending is a bit of an abrupt "we know we're not getting a season 2" ending. If you enjoyed it until then, I'd definitely read the manga | L28 (you can start from vol 5/ch 21). Definitely not required viewing - but might be entertaining enough if you're a bit bored. If you liked マリア様がみてる | L27 (which this show owes its existence to), you'll probably find a lot to appreciate here. While I strongly prefer マリみて, this show is a lot easier to get into at first, which is what made me bump my rating up to a 4.
Language: Some of the language is straightforward, and some is very posh/お嬢様っぽい. Grammar is about what you'd expect for this level.
