I enjoyed the story a lot, I devoured the whole book in three days (which usually doesn't happen to me).

I deliberately chose to not create vocabulary cards for this book but only look up words to understand the flow of the story. This was alright for the majority of the book but I didn't end up having much clue about what was going on in any of the magical scenes and explanations. This didn't hold me back too much though, since those scenes tended to be short.

The story plays out in a university setting. That made it great for extending useful vocabulary. I found that the main story could be easily understood once I looked up all the words I did not know. Personally, I found that the story didn't grab my attention as much as other books do. That might be because I'm used to reading fantasy. Contrary to fantasy, I found this book easier to read because while it contains 縁結び (matchmaking) aspects the situations stay mostly realistic. There's no magic
