Super short stories, the title reads as “really scary stories” but they were anything but. Really not scary at all! That made me feel a bit disappointed as I was looking for some thrill.
They all have a twist at the end, and the “solution” is explained in a page after the story in case you miss it (some are quite subtle).
Language is fairly easy, sometimes very colloquial. It’s ok to read as a light-hearted book with stories of 2-3 pages. Don’t get it if you’re looking for something scary!
Engaging Mystery with a Convoluted Finish: A Mixed Yet Recommended Read
I was thoroughly engaged and curious throughout the book. I loved the mystery, and despite encountering some challenging kanjis, it was a quick read. The first 70% is awesome. However, like other readers, I found the last 30% to be long and almost tedious. The story became convoluted with too many names to keep track of, making it hard to remember who was who by the end. Despite this, I’d still recommend it.
