I first started self-studying Japanese at about 13 years old, before moving on to study it at high school and university.
I've been reading manga since I was 11, and watching anime even before that, after I first found Pokémon on one of the channels I came across while flicking through our then-new cable TV as a child (and then also found Sailor Moon, Digimon, and Hamtaro).
I'm trying to get into reading Japanese novels, and more manga in Japanese, but since I technically read manga in Japanese for work as a manga translator, it's a bit of a struggle to make myself read in Japanese in my free time.
I've joined here to try to remedy that!
