I wanted to read a murder mystery and it got overly complicated. Most of the dialogue was rather boring and was paced too slowly. Also, the zombies were necessary. After looking up the book, even native speakers found it very confusing. Unless you read the whole series, there is no payoff.
Quite enjoyed it. The ending was heartbreaking.
Should be an easy read for people at N3. Ended up with a list of 244 words I didn't know to study. Some where just different kanji for familiar words.
