Lovely and easy children's book

It's a lovely story about an old man and his cat (Tama), who live on an Island full of old people and cats. This is the "film version book". The film is based on a Manga.

There's not much action going on and it's more about daily life. The grammer is rather easy and the chapters and paragraphs are rather short, making it an enyoable read. The book contains a lot of vocabulary typically not covered by textbooks - especially when describing the landscabe (and there are lots of description about it). But if you are around N3 level and grab a dictionary, you should be fine.

I would definetly recommend it as a "first book"- it was the first japanese book, that i finished. I allways gave up when trying to read a book instead of a Manga, but this story was easy enough. But if you don't like cats ore children's book, than this will be boring for you.
