This book is so stupid and funny. Basically, two gods in heaven are fucking with this British dude with a “destiny notebook” where they choose for bad stuff to happen to him at each time, but he ends up overcoming these challenges in bizarre ways and staying happy most of the time. It was a pretty casual read, and for the most part it was just ridiculous. That being said, it did have some more serious bits and a general moral of not giving up in the face of adversity. It also was a sort of light read in how ironically low its stakes often weirdly were, and the many context clues you get in this admittedly formulaic narrative structure. It was not some kind of piece of high literature, not even close, but it was a pretty entertaining, light read that I got through quickly.
