Volume 1: The time is a thousand years ago, in the Heian period (794-1185). A letter written by Chiko, a princess of a noble family with a somewhat eccentric sense of humor, is delivered to Toru, the son of a noble family who, despite his young age, seems to have realized the world. Toru is moved by the unique content of the letter and sends a reply. What will happen to the letter that was exchanged only once by chance?
